KIMS Medical College is a private, self funded college to have earned final recognition from Medical Council of India as a Medical College, in the State of Andhra Pradesh with an intake of 150 Under Graduate admissions annually. The Medical College was started in the year 2005 and obtained final recognition for its Under graduate (MBBS) degree course from Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Government of India in March, 2010 and consequently obtained permission from MCI & Govt. of India for starting 7 Post Graduate (MD / MS) degree courses with an intake of 9 seats in the year 2011-12, which increased to 17 Post Graduate (MD / MS) degree courses with an intake of 38 seats in the year 2013-14 and we achieved the next mile stone of significant growth for intake of 53 seats for the current year 2014-15.

Located at Amalapuram on NH 216 , the college attracts national and international students from the globe. The advantages for the students at KIMS are an ideal ambience for pursuing their studies, highly qualified and experienced faculty, proper facilities like air-conditioned class rooms, labs, library, auditorium, hostels for boys and girls, staff quarters, transportation facilities, sports facilities etc., and a large well equipped, well staffed, and properly functioning teaching hospital.

Abundant clinical material is available to the students in the attached 800 bed teaching hospital KIMS General Hospital which is within the campus and it provides free treatment to all out patients and elective inpatients. All diagnostic tests like MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultra Sound and investigative tests for Blood and Urine tests are done in the central lab. Students get excellent hands-on experience in the hospital and they learn through live demonstrations in the college and practical experience in the hospital under the guidance of well experienced specialists in respective departments. The students learn to cure as well as care the patients. The stress is laid on the ethos and moral values of the medical profession.
